CalcuDoku Instructions

This page explains how to complete CalcuDoku interactive puzzles.

CalcuDoku puzzles can be played interactively on the computer, offering many features and advantages compared to pencil and paper. This section explains everything about how to play CalcuDoku on the computer.

Placing and deleting numbers

 Placing and deleting numbers

CalcuDoku interactive is played by placing numbers in a grid. Click mouse on the desired square to open dial pad and then click on the desired number. To remove a number, repeat the above using X at the bottom of the dial pad. Numbers can also be placed by pointing mouse on the desired square and then typing with the keyboard.

Using pencilmarks

Using pencilmarks

CalcuDoku interactive also supports pencilmarks to help solve hard puzzles. Click mouse on the desired pencilmark square to open dial pad and then click on the desired number. To remove a pencilmark, repeat the above using X at the bottom of the dial pad. Pencilmarks can also be placed by pointing mouse on the desired pencilmark square and then typing with the keyboard.

All game functions are accessed through the toolbar. For some toolbar buttons, keyboard shortcut keys are also available as listed below. Toolbar may be positioned horizontally or vertically using the rotate button on the left edge, and relocated anywhere in the game by dragging its frame.

  • Show errors and conflicts: Check this box to automatically show errors and conflicting number instances during the game. A conflicting number means it already exists in the same row or column
  • Show math combinations: Check this box to show all allowed math combinations when mouse is pointing at a block. Math combinations list will appear under the puzzle.
  • Show remainder: Check this box to show math remainder in the block which the mouse is pointing at.
  • Auto complete: Check this box to auto complete rows, columns and blocks when only one number is missing.

Battleships puzzles can be played interactively on the computer, offering many features and advantages compared to pencil and paper. This section explains everything about how to play Battleships Interactive.

Filling squares with ship segments or water

Filling Squares with Ship Segments or Water 

Battleships interactive is played by filling squares with ship segments or water. First click fills the square with water, second click fill the square with a ship segment and the third click brings the square back to its original state. Multiple squares may be filled or blanked by dragging the mouse.

Completing ship segments

Completing Ship Segments

When filling a square with a ship segment, the square will turn gray indicating it isn’t yet known which part of the ship it is going to be. As gray ship segments become surrounded with water or with other ship segments the color of the gray squares will change to black and their shape will change to show the appropriate ship segment which they represent.

Completing row or column

Completing row or column

When all squares in a row or a column are completed, the corresponding number will change to gray. Empty squares in a row or a column may be filled with water by clicking the corresponding number. To finish the game, all squares must be filled with either ship segments or water. When the last square of the puzzle is filled correctly, a congratulations message will pop up.
